NEWS2 photosMonica Bellucci to Play Feminist Revolutionary Tina Modotti
Monica Bellucci will portray the feminist revolutionary Tina Modotti. The project, titled Radical Eye: The Life and Times of Tina Modotti, will be set in Mexico, Los Angeles and Italy and will be in the form of a mini series, directed by the eminent Italian director Edoardo de Angelis. Paula Vaccaro and Aaron Brookner the series will use English, Spanish and Italian to tell its story. Vaccaro and Brookner have also written the screenplay for the series. Modotti was an Italian who emigrated to the U.S. in 1913, acted briefly in Hollywood silent films, then became known during the 1930s in Europe and Mexico for both her photography and her left-wing revolutionary fervor. She joined a group of major contemporary artists in Mexico and is considered a proto-feminist who advocated new freedoms for women in the early 20th century.
NEWSMonica Bellucci, Proves There’s No Age Limit on Flawless Street Style
Monica Bellucci made sure that all eyes were on her at the circus-themed Dior show for Paris Haute Couture fashion week. Monica Bellucci, 54, highlighted her slim waist in a belted maroon suede dress at Dior's fashion show for Paris Haute Couture week, held at the Rodin museum on Monday Monica Bellucci has long been a style icon in the world of film, and today, at the Dior Couture show, she proved that she can hold her own in the realm of street style, too. The 54-year-old Italian actress gave a lesson in timeless front row dressing when she arrived wearing a burgundy suede dress coat that was tightly cinched at the waist and a pair of black knee-high leather boots by Christian Louboutin. She kept her accessories simple, sporting round, oversize sunglasses and a classic Dior saddle handbag. While the actress is known for her bombshell movie roles—she was the oldest Bond girl when she took on the role at 50—her street style has a more nuanced, scene-stealing quality. It’s clean, classic, and the antithesis of fashion peacocking. In fact, Bellucci looked as if she could just as well be heading to a casual lunch date as a star-studded couture show. She managed to make the flawless fashion statement looked totally easy, like she wasn’t even trying.
NEWSMonica Bellucci exclusive campaign
'Co-ageing': such is the new Nivea philosophy. The Beiersdorf-owned skincare brand, which claims to assist women in accepting the signs of ageing, has closeted the term 'anti-ageing', "because ageing isn't a taboo," as outlined by Morgane Jouot, marketing director of the brand's France-Benelux region. Wise, beautiful and at peace, in the middle of the journey of her life, Monica Bellucci, 53, has chosen a white snow suit to make her debut as a testimonial for the face skincare of Nivea, a cosmetic brand that takes its name from the Latin word of snow , "Nix, nivis". The announcement was made on May 9 at the Palazzo Reale in Milan (location given to the brand that in return will sponsor the program of summer exhibitions): the world icon actress of beauty and femininity, mother of Deva and Leonie (from the former husband Vincent Cassel), is the face of the new anti-age line Nivea Hyaluron Cellular Filler. And to represent this new philosophy, Nivea has tapped actress Monica Belluci, who, from May 21, will be the face of the Hyaluron Cellular Filler skincare line in a 30-second advertising campaign, produced by director Bruno Aveillan. The campaign will air in France, Italy, Spain and Belgium. "We have to accept the passing of time: in a world where we are all scared to age, that fact of saying we can continue to love and be loved, even if we have a more organic beauty, I find that a beautiful image," explains the actress, whose signature is also inscribed on the packaging of the skincare line, which is aimed at women fifty years old and over.
NEWSLumière Festival Opens With Monica Bellucci
The Lumière Film Festival opened in Lyon, France, with a grand ceremony celebrating the event’s 10th anniversary. Institut Lumière Director Thierry Frémaux welcomed a host of French and international stars and filmmakers to the festivities at the city’s immense Halle Tony Garnier concert hall, among them Javier Bardem, Monica Bellucci, Jean Dujardin and Guillermo del Toro. It was Jean-Paul Belmondo who drew the evening’s biggest applause and a standing ovation, however. The iconic French star was on hand for the opening night screening of Claude Lelouch’s 1988 comedy-drama “Itinerary of a Spoiled Child” in a newly restored print. Lelouch and co-star Richard Anconina were likewise in attendance. “For our 10th anniversary we wanted to show a French film,” Frémaux said. “Lelouch was here our first year … and he’s here because he is one of the greatest filmmakers in France and the world.” Monica looked sharp on the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Lyon Lumiere Festival on Saturday (October 13) in Lyon, France. The festival was created in 2009, and has become one of the largest international festivals of cinema. This year, Jane Fonda will receive the Lumiere Award in celebration of her body of work. The festival includes retrospectives, restored prints on the big screen, master classes, exhibitions and the International Classic Film Market.
