Monica Bellucci in Paris to discover more about her life and work. Having begun her modelling career at 13, Bellucci’s first major film was the BAFTA-winning 1996 romantic thriller L’Appartement, which also starred Vincent Cassel – the man she went on to marry. Having split with him nearly five years ago, Bellucci has been balancing work on high-profile projects – she starred as the oldest ever “Bond girl” at the age of 51 in Sam Mendes’s Spectre – with raising her impressively multilingual daughters Deva (13) and Léonie (seven). Along the way, she’s been unafraid to tackle unusual and challenging projects, the most controversial being Gaspar Noé’s 2002 psychological drama Irréversible, in which her character is raped in a notoriously protracted scene. Fluent in at least three languages, Bellucci learnt Serbian for Emir Kusturica’s 2016 drama On the Milky Road, which was four years in the making.

'Co-ageing': such is the new Nivea philosophy. The Beiersdorf-owned skincare brand, which claims to assist women in accepting the signs of ageing, has closeted the term 'anti-ageing', "because ageing isn't a taboo," as outlined by Morgane Jouot, marketing director of the brand's France-Benelux region. Wise, beautiful and at peace, in the middle of the journey of her life, Monica Bellucci, 53, has chosen a white snow suit to make her debut as a testimonial for the face skincare of Nivea, a cosmetic brand that takes its name from the Latin word of snow , "Nix, nivis". The announcement was made on May 9 at the Palazzo Reale in Milan (location given to the brand that in return will sponsor the program of summer exhibitions): the world icon actress of beauty and femininity, mother of Deva and Leonie (from the former husband Vincent Cassel), is the face of the new anti-age line Nivea Hyaluron Cellular Filler. And to represent this new philosophy, Nivea has tapped actress Monica Belluci, who, from May 21, will be the face of the Hyaluron Cellular Filler skincare line in a 30-second advertising campaign, produced by director Bruno Aveillan. The campaign will air in France, Italy, Spain and Belgium. "We have to accept the passing of time: in a world where we are all scared to age, that fact of saying we can continue to love and be loved, even if we have a more organic beauty, I find that a beautiful image," explains the actress, whose signature is also inscribed on the packaging of the skincare line, which is aimed at women fifty years old and over.

Lumière Festival Opens With Monica Bellucci

The Lumière Film Festival opened in Lyon, France, with a grand ceremony celebrating the event’s 10th anniversary. Institut Lumière Director Thierry Frémaux welcomed a host of French and international stars and filmmakers to the festivities at the city’s immense Halle Tony Garnier concert hall, among them Javier Bardem, Monica Bellucci, Jean Dujardin and Guillermo del Toro. It was Jean-Paul Belmondo who drew the evening’s biggest applause and a standing ovation, however. The iconic French star was on hand for the opening night screening of Claude Lelouch’s 1988 comedy-drama “Itinerary of a Spoiled Child” in a newly restored print. Lelouch and co-star Richard Anconina were likewise in attendance. “For our 10th anniversary we wanted to show a French film,” Frémaux said. “Lelouch was here our first year … and he’s here because he is one of the greatest filmmakers in France and the world.” Monica looked sharp on the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Lyon Lumiere Festival on Saturday (October 13) in Lyon, France. The festival was created in 2009, and has become one of the largest international festivals of cinema. This year, Jane Fonda will receive the Lumiere Award in celebration of her body of work. The festival includes retrospectives, restored prints on the big screen, master classes, exhibitions and the International Classic Film Market.

Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley (“Gandhi,” “Schindler’s List”) and Monica Bellucci (“Spectre”) will co-star in “Spider in the Web,” a counterespionage thriller helmed by Eran Riklis (“Lemon Tree”). Film Constellation has pre-sold Ben Kingsley and Monica Bellucci espionage thriller “Spider in the Web” in territories including Germany and China, as the stars are seen together in an exclusive first-look image from the movie. Production has just wrapped on the film, which is helmed by Eran Riklis and was shot in Belgium and the Netherlands. Concorde has picked it up for Austria and Germany, and Lemon Tree Media for China. Tanweer has prebought it for Greece and Cyprus. A studio deal is thought to be in the cards in another major territory. Set in modern-day Europe and inspired by true events, the story follows a once-lauded but aging secret agent, Adereth (Kingsley), whose bosses want to put him out to grass. He embarks on a covert mission that involves finding the enigmatic Angela (Bellucci), while also being tracked by a rival agent played by Itay Tiran (“Lebanon”). Who is hunting whom becomes the question. The film is produced by United King Films’ Moshe Edery and Leon Edery, Michael Sharfshtein of Topia Communications, Eran Riklis, Jacqueline de Goeij for Ciné Cri de Coeur (Belgium), Sabine Brian and Ronald Versteeg for NL Films (Holland), and Eyal Edery for Dragocom (Portugal). Executive producers are Ira Riklis, Dana Lustig and Film Constellation’s Fabien Westerhoff. The screenplay was written by Gidon Maron and Emmanuel Nakkache. Film Constellation co-financed and is handling worldwide sales. It launched it internationally in Berlin.
