Monica Bellucci: Tim Burton’s Vision for Vogue Italia — 4K

Monica Bellucci tells the story of her life through photography — the girl, the woman and the mother who deeply loves her daughters. For Vogue Italia’s October 2024 issue, director Tim Burton portrays her in a romantic, cinematic journey through Italy’s Sacro Bosco di Bomarzo, surrounded by mythological creatures and dreamlike sculptures. Before photographing her, Burton sketches her portrait, capturing Monica in front of the stone ogre inscribed ‘ogni pensiero vola’ — a symbol of reflection and self-awareness. An atmosphere both surreal and deeply Italian, inspired by Mario Bava’s cinema, celebrates the most beautiful marvel: Monica. Photographed and illustrated by Tim Burton, styled by Colleen Atwood, with hair by John Nollet, makeup by Letizia Carnevale and editorial direction by Francesca Ragazzi.
